Western Mass: Listen Up

Ambition couldn't be a better album title for Wale. This video gave me chills. I remember playing Chillin a few years back before he even had Lady Gaga on the track. Timeflies Tuesday-Spell On You

If you haven't heard of Timeflies yet, you should catch yourself up on the moves they've made in the last year. The duo, composed of Rob Resnick (Producer) and Cal (Vocalist), have been on fire recently. These 22 year old artists met at Tufts University where they were able to combine their musical talents for our listening pleasure. Timeflies releases a video every Tuesday, known as "Timeflies Tuesdays". Well this week, Timeflies is back with another unreal display of lyrical talent in their Halloween addition. Cal goes in over the classic Jay Hawkins song "I Put A Spell On You" with a little of Rob's flavor added to the beat and some back up vocals on the chorus. The creativity that goes into these weekly videos is unreal and they're gonna keep doing their thing.

 PS I'd do almost anything to be able to sing like that...

Most of you probably dont know who Ruphio is. It's time to get familiar. This 21 year old artist hails from a small town in Massachusetts and has been generating a buzz as of late. He's already opened for artists like Fabolous and Trey Songz and isn't showing signs of slowing down. He's decided to grace Freshly Wrapped with an exclusive track, "Smoke and Light", off of his upcoming mixtape due out mid December. If you haven't heard of him, its about time to learn the name. Kendrick Lamar drops this freestyle on Sway's morning show, who after dubbed him "one of the best in the game". Heavily influenced by West Coast rap, Lamar has been around since back in 2005. Some of his best projects include 2010 mixtape O(verly) D(edicated) and his free album released this past summer Section.80. The-Dream & Big Sean "Ghetto" Official Video

Today The Dream released his music video for "Ghetto" featuring Big Sean which was off his free album 1977.  Im not sure how I feel about this song but Big Sean definitely does his thing as usual. Be sure to check his verse out and listen to his latest single Dance (A$$) [Remix] off his summer album Finally Famous.  Personally I like the original a lot better, I wasn't really feeling Nicki's verse at all but you be the judge and take a listen below.

Looking Like Its Gonna Be A (J) Cole Summer

Well a little early morning news for you. In an interview with Hot 106 Providence this morning J Cole, after debuting number one with his freshman album, is working on a second. And not only is the second album in the oven but we could expect it by the end of this June. Judging on how well his last album was recieved, you better not put your coats away becuase looks like its gonna be a Cole summer.

The Weeknd Taking Care with Drake's Album

So artist The Weeknd is supposed to be featured on Take Care. Now I don't know about you guys but I've never heard of this guy before the song "The Zone". And he fucking killed it. A slow jam and smooth vocals with Drake laying down some vintage So Far Gone lyrics. Ive never been more excited to hear someone I've never heard of. Take Care is sure to impress when Octobers Very Own releases his long awaited project November 15th.

Details On G.O.O.D. Music Album, Spring 2012

So the album is actually coming. With a lineup of Ye', Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, CyHi da Prince, and John Legend among others, this album should not dissappoint. According to Pusha T, the album is already four tracks in, and will feature production from Kanye himself as well as G.O.O.D. music favorite, No I.D.

"We got some Kanye production. We got a few others. I'm actually waiting to get in with No I.D. Hopefully we get in like November and I already know that's gonna be magic." Pusha went on to say "No I.D. has this thing of really catering and tailor making these tracks to what he thinks"

Waiting on more details but this album should not disappoint. We'll keep you posted if anything else emerges.

Mike Stud who is a Cranston, R.I. native has been making a lot of noise in the music industry as of late especially with the release of his mixtape "A Toast To Tommy" which made it all the way to #2 on Itunes Hip Hop charts. Has Kid Cudi Fallen Off?

I used to be one of the biggest cudi fans but over the past year its not hard to admit that he just isn't what he used to be.  His debut album, Man On The Moon: The End of Day was a classic and the most recent, Man On The Moon 2: The Legend of Mr. Rager, was sub par. According to his twitter he is going to get back to rapping but who knows with the Moon Man. This track hit the net back in 2007 but the mastered version, produced by Cudi's favorite Emile, hits the net today.
